Manga of the Week: Black Lagoon

The story of Black Lagoon is definitely one of the more entertaining ones that I’ve had the opportunity to watch in recent years and it goes perfectly with the genre. Even from the start you can tell that Rock has more to him than what you might expect, it is pretty obvious when he recommends that the crew take out a helicopter with a torpedo by getting the ship airborne that he might just be meant for the world of crazy pirates and Revy has some of the best lines in the series, fitting perfectly with her badass attitude. There is a whole lot of gun fighting, blood and foul language, but that is what you should expect from a series like “Black Lagoon” and without it I don’t think the series would be the same, or as fun to watch. All-in-all “Black Lagoon” is vulgar, violent and full of crotch shots, but all of that is probably what makes it so addictive. Along with an entertaining story the series is filled with characters that you love to hate and bad guys that you just can’t help but love. If you’re a fan of anime like Deadman Wonderland and Hellsing Ultimate then there is no way that you should pass up on Black Lagoon.

Must… get… home… to patch xD

We all know the drill. Players and gamers alike know that fleeting feeling, that happy surge around your whole body when a new patch or game is coming out. We get giddy, get excited and sometimes squeal with delight *cough*. Oh boy oh boy oh boy! Praise the Gods when it’s finally out. We all rush to buy it! Or download it or patch it whichever. We’ve probably waited days, months or even years for it God forbid. Then we wait in line. And wait. And wait. Until finally, you get a hold of it. *insert chorus of Angels* Oooooohhhh~ feels like you’re holding some kind of Holy Grail in your hands huh? Then off to play it we do!

Admit it, we are no-lifers when “new” content/game come out xD

Metareview: Crysis 3

Do you really think Crysis 3's Prophet cares what a bunch of reviewers think of his game? Yeah, the guy in the multi-million-dollar Nanosuit is going to waste his time reading the opinions of some people on the Internet. Come on!

But if you're not Prophet then why not take a quick glance at what those other reviewers had to say? And don't forget to read our review too, you scallywag!

·         Game Informer (85/100): "This impressive graphical fidelity takes a serious hit in the transition to multiplayer. Though Crysis 3 has some of the better-designed maps in the series, the muddied textures are a far cry from the jaw-dropping visuals of the single-player campaign, especially on consoles."

·         IGN (85/100): "It's not quite a next generation experience come early, but it's a superbly controlled, tightly paced and tactically flexible shooter with a satisfyingly focused story, and an excellent way to tie up the Crysis series... for now."

·         Destructoid (75/100): "Crysis 3 attempts to strike a balance between Crysis and Crysis 2, but in doing so manages to lose a little bit of what made each game appealing. The result is a title that doesn't truly match the open-ended excitement of the first game nor the revelatory empowerment of the second, yet manages to provide enough of both to at least tantalize, even if it doesn't completely satisfy."

·         GamesRadar (70/100): "A gratifying shooter experience. Even though the campaign is on the shorter side, there are a few visual hiccups, and some of the enemy AI is unbalanced, those small gripes get overshadowed by Crysis 3's tactical gameplay, beautiful environments, and superb online multiplayer. While not treading new ground for the FPS genre, Crysis 3 is a solid shooter."

·         VideoGamer (60/100): "By the end of the game I was bored silly, and considering the scope of what was going on that shouldn't have been the case. Sadly, bar a few exceptions – a Jurassic Park-style hunting section in long grass, an open-ended assault on Ceph AA emplacements – I'd rinsed and repeated the same thing so much that I couldn't care less."

Anime of the Week: Full Metal Panic

Full Metal Panic spreads itself thin as it covers comedy and action, but manages to entertain when it does fully commit to either. It is by no means your average mecha anime. A more comedic premise with an excellent story sets this anime apart from the more action orientated Gundam series. Laughing is unavoidable when the naïve Sousuke attempts to protect Chidori through any means possible, using guns, smoke grenades, and live explosions. However, when the laughs stop the amazing action sequences begin, they are always top notch.  Full Metal Panic!’s unique characters and relationships places it among of my favorite series in anime. It is definitely worth checking out. The action is on par with the other mecha anime and the comedy is a good precursor for the Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu spin-off.

A show of hands please ladies and gentlemen to all who have experienced this.

Well, we all know that feeling. Feels like we've been ripped off or something hahaha! Just goes to show that waiting for a couple of days before selling may be worth the risk after all, eh?

Cabal vs DotA

I was playing DotA 2 with my friends today and one of my friend posted a link on the party chat. So, me and my other friends looked at it and to our surprise it was this:

I really lol'd when I saw this image. It's like a guy who's mimicking a celebrity then out of no where the real guy will snuck behind him then tell those words "Dude, that's my line". :D We asked where did he got the photo, he said just from searching. He explained that the character on the first image was a boss monster from Cabal's new episode which was Episode IX: Rising Force and the other image was oh well every DotA gamer knows that guy.
